Tour Plan

Your safari begins the moment you land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A Stawi Adventures representative will greet you and facilitate your transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve—either via scenic road or a bush flight over the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed to Little Zebra River Camp, a secluded luxury tented lodge nestled near the Mara River.

After check-in and a gourmet lunch, you’ll head out on your first afternoon game drive. This is your introduction to the Kenya Big Five Safari experience, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and even elusive predators like lions or leopards. As the sun sets, return to camp for a candlelit bush dinner and fall asleep to the sounds of the wild.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive across the Masai Mara’s golden plains. This is prime time for predator activity, and your expert guide will help track lions, cheetahs, and hyenas on the hunt. Along the way, marvel at large herds of wildebeest, gazelles, buffalo, and perhaps a black rhino if luck strikes.

After breakfast back at camp, spend the midday hours relaxing—enjoy a spa treatment, lounge by the plunge pool, or simply admire the view from your private deck. In the afternoon, you’ll venture out again for another immersive Big 5 Safari Kenya experience. Return at sunset to a roaring campfire, a multi-course meal, and stories under the stars.

Begin the day with an optional hot-air balloon safari (additional cost), floating over the Mara’s vast savannah at dawn. This aerial perspective provides a once-in-a-lifetime view of wildlife below, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. The rest of the day is dedicated to full-day game drives with a picnic lunch, offering a chance to witness lion prides at rest, elephants feeding, and the famed crocodile-laden Mara River crossings (seasonal).

Explore new territories within the reserve and take in the diversity of birds, landscapes, and ecosystems. By evening, you’ll return to camp for your final night in the Mara—an unforgettable experience enriched by the sounds of Africa at night.

After breakfast, you’ll depart Masai Mara and journey northeast toward Lake Nakuru National Park, a UNESCO-recognized site within the Great Rift Valley. Upon entering the park, you’ll be greeted by flamingos lining the alkaline lake, with white rhinos grazing on the shores and baboons crossing the road.

You’ll check into Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, known for its elevated views and fine cuisine. In the afternoon, go on a game drive to search for black and white rhinos, tree-climbing lions, and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. As evening falls, return to the lodge for dinner with sweeping lake views and a cozy overnight stay.

Following an early breakfast, set out toward Amboseli National Park, traveling through the central highlands and eventually descending into Kenya’s southern frontier. Upon arrival at Elewana Tortilis Camp, located in a private conservancy bordering Amboseli, you’ll be treated to gourmet lunch and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the afternoon, enjoy your first Amboseli game drive. This park is famous for massive herds of elephants, and their gentle march across dusty plains creates some of the most iconic scenes in African wildlife photography. You'll likely encounter other members of the Big Five, as well as hippos in the wetlands and an abundance of bird species. Dinner is served back at camp, with Kilimanjaro glowing under the moonlight.

Today, enjoy a full-day safari in Amboseli. Begin at dawn, when Kilimanjaro is most visible and the wildlife most active. Your morning game drive will take you through marshes, dry lake beds, and open plains. Watch as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and even predators like lions and hyenas navigate the landscape.

Enjoy breakfast in the bush or return to camp for brunch. The midday hours offer time to relax, explore the gift shop, or indulge in a massage. In the afternoon, return to the park for another drive or a visit to a nearby Maasai village, where you’ll learn about traditional customs and their connection to the land.

Your final night on safari includes a sundowner cocktail overlooking the plains and a farewell dinner featuring local ingredients and world-class hospitality.

After a leisurely morning and one last sunrise game drive, it’s time to bid farewell to Amboseli. You’ll return to camp for breakfast and check out. Depending on your travel preference, you’ll transfer by road or take a short flight back to Nairobi.

In Nairobi, Stawi Adventures can organize lunch at a local restaurant or a stop at a curio market for last-minute souvenirs. Your driver will then transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure. As your 7-day Kenya Big Five Safari comes to a close, you leave with rich memories, unforgettable wildlife sightings, and stories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
