Tour Plan
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or airport by your professional safari guide from Stawi Adventures.
After a short safari briefing, depart Nairobi and drive south toward Amboseli National Park through the scenic plains of Kajiado County. Along the journey, you will pass traditional Maasai villages, open savannah grasslands, and rural Kenyan landscapes that gradually introduce you to safari country.
Arrive at Amboseli National Park in time for lunch and check-in at your safari lodge or luxury tented camp.
Amboseli is famous for its massive elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. The park’s open terrain and swamps fed by underground springs create excellent wildlife viewing opportunities year-round.
After some relaxation, depart for your first afternoon game drive inside the park. Wildlife sightings may include:
- Large elephant herds
- Lions resting in the grasslands
- Buffaloes grazing near swamps
- Giraffes and zebras roaming the plains
- Wildebeests and antelopes
- Hippos and abundant birdlife
On clear days, the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro creates one of the most iconic safari backdrops in Africa.
As the African sunset spreads across the plains, return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Meals Included

- Dinner
Wake up early for a sunrise game drive when wildlife is most active and Mount Kilimanjaro is usually clearest before cloud cover develops.
The golden morning light across the Amboseli plains provides exceptional photography opportunities, especially with elephants moving against the backdrop of the mountain.
Return to camp for breakfast before continuing with extended game drives across different sections of the park. Amboseli’s unique ecosystem of swamps, dry lake beds, open plains, and acacia woodland attracts a remarkable diversity of wildlife.
Throughout the day, you may encounter:
- Elephant families crossing the plains
- Lions hunting in the grasslands
- Hyenas and jackals roaming the park
- Cheetahs scanning the savannah
- Hippos submerged in swamp pools
- Flamingos and water birds around seasonal wetlands
Enjoy lunch at the lodge followed by some relaxation before another afternoon game drive exploring deeper sections of the park.
The combination of wildlife density, open landscapes, and dramatic mountain scenery makes Amboseli one of Kenya’s most photogenic safari destinations.
