When to Go – Timing the Great River Crossings

Peak Crossing Season – July to October

The mega-herds gather around the Mara River during the months of late July to October on the river’s northern side. The most common crossings occur in August and September, when they can occur several times a day. These months are also the busiest months, though. Do I need a visa to visit Kenya for a safari?
